Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer
The official trailer released by Sony on Nov. 16 reveals Holland’s Peter Parker going head to head with multiple former Spider-Man villains: Doctor Octavius (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman, and Lizard. They were all unleashed during a Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) spell gone wrong that opened up the multiverse.
While the preview shows no trace of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, the final moments still hint that they could be on their way. “They’re starting to come through and I can’t stop them,” Strange says.
On August 23, Sony released a teaser trailer that sent viewers into a frenzy. The footage revealed a major sneak peek at Peter Parker’s life after Mysterio revealed his true identity to the world, which resulted in his name being slandered and him nearly ending up behind bars. So, he goes to Doctor Strange and Wong (Benedict Wong) for help. Peter asks Doctor Strange to make it possible for people to forget his true identity. As Doctor Strange grants his wish, he later realizes it was a mistake.
Doctor Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), a famous villain from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man franchise, appears at the end of the trailer. Peter activates his iron spider suit as he prepares for battle.

What’s going on with Doctor Strange in Spider-Man?
Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will play a pivotal role in Spider-Man’s third installment. After the events of Far From Home, Peter leans on Doctor Strange’s abilities to solve his problems, which alters his life in a way he didn’t expect. This film could simultaneously set up for Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, which will hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will unleash the multiverse of villains?
The new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home throws Peter Parker head first into the multiverse. The big look, released on Tuesday, gives viewers a taste of the timeline chaos that’s coming when the movie is released on Dec. 17.
After months of teasing, this trailer finally reveals the full extent of Marvel’s Spider-Man multiverse. After Doctor Strange casts a spell to make people forget he is Spider-Man, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is pit against the villains of earlier movies. Lined up are Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) — who we saw in the first trailer— Electro (Jamie Foxx), and the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe). Don’t expect any other Spider-Mans just yet.
One character we don’t see in the trailer is Eddie Brock and his Symbiote pal Venom. There’s been no confirmation that Tom Hardy would appear in the movie, but we know the character at least exists in the same universe as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. In the after-credits sequence for Venom: Let Their Be Carnage, Eddie and Venom are transported to a new reality — seemingly by the Dr. Strange spell from the first No Way Home Trailer. Once they arrive, they see J.K. Simmons reveal Peter Parker’s secret identity, proving that they’re finally in the MCU — even if they aren’t in this trailer.
